What Adlanna did while we were in Jamaica

Britt took so many good pics, I just picked a few to put up and added all of them to the slide show at the bottom! They bought matching shirts for the 4 of them!
The plane ride was great fun, we had our own tv's for most of the ride and so it went by much faster than on the way down... we did get delayed a bit with the wind etc. and had to nearly run to board our 2nd plane, after customs we were (chris and I ) were the first to get our bags and get through customs and we hadn't seen anyone for a while and it was a maze to get across the airport while they were announcing "last call" for boarding our plane... Chris made a joke that it was our test for amazing race.... which is funny since we had like 1 hr 45min layover... getting through customs and being late and etc didn't really leave room for anything... again no food... and the plane ran out of purchasable food the row in front of us. We ate m&m s and pringles for dinner. LOL

We finally landed another 30min late, and got our bags much faster this time and headed home. Adlanna was suppose to be asleep so we planned to spend the night at Britts. So my parents dropped us off there... Adlanna was awake and happy to see us, and you could totally tell Chris missed her... he wanted to have her all to himself. Britt said that she tried putting her to bed 3 times but she wouldn't have it, and they had mentioned to Addie that we were coming home that day so she thinks she was waiting up for us. And sure enough after we got there and we got hugs and kisses, I went and laid her down and she went right to sleep no problem.

Thanks Britt, Greg, Kaylah, Jaiden and Danika for watching and playing with Adlanna for us, we are so glad we have family like you to help babysit. Thanks Chris for the wonderful trip and souvineers!!! Thanks Nancy and Max for the ride to and from the airport and helping with everything along the way!

Brittany had spent a lot of time making a CD with pics of addie etc on it for me when we got home. So had us watch a whole DVD movie she had put together with the pics and music and video clips of what Adlanna did whle we were gone.... So so sweet... I can't wait to get my copy! Thanks so much Britt that was super sweet!!!!!

Britts family did end up with pink eye while we were gone and they passed it around a bit, Addie did have watery eyes when I got home and the next morning one eye was gooped shut... SAD but we got it open and used a home remedy... breastmilk to start healing it and sure enough 1 dose later you could tell a HUGE difference, so we dosed her 3 more times and it seems to be completely gone now. WHEEEEEEEEW!!!!

Saturday in Jamaica

Saturday we got up and planned on having a lazy day. We had called before getting out of bed early and prepping for Scuba and yep cancelled again... so we slept in.

by lunchtime my mother pointed out my ring looked funny, so I looked and sure enough a diamond had fallen out. So we called the store and told the guy and he blamed me and said it was my fault I must have bumped it cause I took the ring in good condition. He said I could leave my ring in Jamaica etc... anyway I started crying so my mother took the phone and told the guy he had ten mintues to fix the problem or the entire group of us at the resort was going to go spread the word not to shop there and what a bad experience we had and hung up on him. LOL
we started walking away from the phone in the shop and he called back and wanted to come get the ring to take it to the shop to fix and return it. However I wasn't very trusting on them since the problems we had and the way he wasn't very nice about it. So I told him I wasn't sure if it would come back as it should so he should bring me a new one to replace it.. or refund my money. Of course they wouldn't refund it so I told him I would pick out a better one at the shp I was at... (the jewelry shop in the resort and the one I bought from "Gem Palace") were the same company. Anyway the guy at the current shop said he couldn't do that because it came off his money instead of the other stores etc. anyway after being in there forever and having such issues we finally agreed he could take it and fix it. So the shop stayed open until my ring came back in and I got it back. But Now I am weary of losing a diamond so I haven't worn it since... I am going to take it to the place my wedding ring was purchase since we trust them and have them look to make sure everything is in tight and that it is all good. Then maybe coat it in the right material so I don't break out anyway and I will be good to go.

So anyway in between this ring mess they had some beach games and I knew I wasn't getting in the water it was the WINDEST day yet... I had my camera... so I took pics of the beach games... they played musical chairs... and they had a bunch of people and the announcer would say grab a hotdog and sit down in these chairs... and they would have to run find a hotdog and come back and the last person was out... anyway it ws funny...

I also realized we had hung out in the "jungle" with the hammocks a few times but I hadn't gotten any pictures of that or the resort so we took some random pics, and took a nap in the hammocks in the jungle. It was a nice relaxing day besides the ring issue. LOL
We had dinner arranged for the entire group at the italian place but Chris rather eat at the japanese place so we went there instead and ate with a bunch of random people. Who funny enough knew half of our group by name LOL We also had a pilot at our table so we talked about flying and the fear of flying etc. I tried vanilla custard for dessert. it was good.. I would try it again.

Once back to the room we hadn't gotten notificatin about what time our bags needed to be downstairs and what time the bus would be there to take us so I called and they said 8am bags outside the door and 9am be down at the buses. So we passed the word on and a few hours later we got a note on our door saying the same thing. I was so excited to finally go home, we had had it with being out of our element and not being able to control some bad circumstances, and it was starting to catch up to me that I didn't have my baby to hold and It was harder and harder to not think about it ... which was my mechinizm for dealing with it. The trip could have ended a day early and that would have been GREAT!

This is a little gecko lizard guy who was right by our door to our room. He is about the size of a SMALL grasshopper... just tiny... but I used my macro lens to zoom in, so he might not look like it!

Friday in Jamaica

Friday we had Dunns River Falls trip at 10:30 am. This was our half of the group and Angela, Because most of the group had already been on their previous trips to Jamaica. It also included some shopping... my fav.!!!
So they stopped at a jewelry store first where we found me a wedding band to match my wedding ring... (Chris has talked about getting me one since we have been married and we always said one day we would, so instead of a million t-shirts and stuff we decided a ring would be better!) ... then they stopped at a second little stip mall and we found some things for our babysitters kids. Kaylah and Jaiden anyway. the 3rd area we stopped at was local shops... WOW this was a lot like crossing the fence line... BUT they seemed to need the money much more. So we ended up buying dani and Addies gifts there and some stuff for chris a shirt and conch shell and a necklace. Theses people even went the extra mile... Because Chris found a necklace he liked and it was too small, so she hurry and rethreaded it onto a longer string right then and there... just to make the sell... isn't that great. However on the way back every person said the same thing "come see my shop" etc... and wanted us to look I honestly ran OUT OF MONEY!!! I had 20bucks for lunch because they said to keep enough for lunch so I did. But one lady said come look anyway maybe you'll find 5 dollars in your purse when you look again. So sad that people lie about these things... but I told her I only had enough for lunch, and she said that I shouldn't worry I wouldn't go hungry LOL. Then I found Chris who had been pulled into another shop... and he found the conch shell and told the lady he needed my approval, anyway he ended up running to the bus to borrow 10dollars from my dad to buy it! LOL then the bus was honking for us so it helped get away from all the other shops we hadn't made it to... but we were still being called to come see... as we ran to the bus so we didn't lose our ride!

4th stop was lunch which was 15.00 a person buffet... so I didn't even save enough for lunch... so again dang glad my parents were there we had to borrow again. :*( and in the end it was worse than our resort buffet and expensive. I had friend chicken and some veggies LOL

The Dunns River Falls we started at the ocean beach level, and climbed up I think it was 900 feet up waterfalls. I only remember one being steep. and two parts being slippery. We also decided since Scuba was canceled on Thurs. and our only last try would be Sat. We should bring our waterproof cameras so they don't go to waste! So up we went, some parts they make you go in a human chain so no one falls and goes too far.... there was a spot you could slide down and it would push you under until you're feet popped up... and then a area we could cannon ball... we did the slide but not the cannon ball... sorry all these are on video that the guides took... since we couldn't take pics of us going down the slide while we were going down the slide LOL

there were more local shops on the way out and my mom wanted to look so we followed and one guy asked me to come look and I told him we didn't have any money truely and we are sorry, but his stuff looked beautiful. And he said "it's not all about money maam it's about respect" so I felt bad.. because I ddin't want to give anyone false hope by looking so I thought I was doing the right then, then I am told I dn't respect him... I felt down... anyway Angela didn't like the first local shops and ended up yelling "max come save me" because she couldn't handle it, so once we saw this was going to be the same; Chris, Angela and I turned back out and walked to the bus stop.

When we got home we had made reservations just for my fam of 5 for pastafari (italian) so we had to go get dressed up... (this was more fancy) to eat. I had a Chicken cordon blue, some pasta, and a salad bar that finally had ranch dresssing on it! Chris had the same but didn't like it as much.

Then when we got to the room we text britt to call since we were't home at the 6pm (we had warned her the night before we wouldn't be!) and Addie again had woke up a few times during the night and Britt had to give her some mortin. :( SAD!!!!

Thursday in Jamaica

Thursday was our Scuba trip! We had to be at the pool by 8:45 to do some training in the pool before leaving at 11:30 to snorkel... Yeah.. cancelled... again weather... Bummer huh!?!?!
We went shopping at the gift shop and the duty free jewelry shop in the resort, Chris found a watch he really wanted... and that's saying a lot he hasn't liked any other watch since we have been married but 1 and it wasn't big enough to fit his wrist so he was bummed! Anyway he liked the watch so we got prices and text Britt and information so she could see how much they were back in the states to see if these were good deals. :)

At the beach they had Olympic games... going on... lots of our group was involved... (like in everything else.) Jason and Dad ended up arm wrestling, and Cory and Joe I think. Braxton wrestled some young kid his age... the match up's weren't bad. Dad won the biggest splash in the pool, and the fastes swim out of all the men. Braxton took second place in a run across the beach... Chris and I decided we better build a sand castle... it got a lot of peoples attention as we built it... It looked more like a volcano... but that's ok.. it had a mote and a drawbridge and all...

Then we swam in the pool before we ran up to talk to Britt and had to get all ready for a joint dinner at Munasan the japanese resturant with all 25 of our group. the chefs were flipping food etc... so they gave Joe a chance to try it.. He caught an egg sucessfully!

Britt said Adlanna had two new molars.. yep that's right that makes 12 teeth!! And she woke up during the night... SAD to hear!!!

Munasan was delicious! Even Chris liked it... they had a grill or a sushi bar. We did the grill. They cooked, rice, veggies, chicken, steak, fish and shrimp right in front of us. We also got to eat some tofu fish soup that was disgusting, some california rolls that I had already made chris try from the buffet.. so I ate them both and some other seaweed rice rolls... nothing new for me stuff I had already had back in highschool for my Japanese class... all very delicious! We had a awesome cook scotlaticia... and she was so cute I had to take a pic... she laughed so hard at us it was GREAT fun!

Then we had some gross dessert so we went to check out the dessert at the buffet and it was talent show night... Braxton was originally thinking about playing the guitar but didn't cause he felt out of practice, but Brad played the drums it was awesome! It was also TOGA night so they demonstrated how to wear your sheets into togas. LOL We completely fell asleep before the toga stuff started... the problem was that after dinner there was like 1.5 hours before the party started and with a full tummy and a busy day we nearly always fell asleep before the parties started!!! come to find out no one went to the toga party everyone was asleep LOL

BTW We did end up going back to the jewelry shop to look at a few diff. ones he ordered in for us and Chris picked him out a atomic watch!!! It is NICE!!! and a REALLY REALLY good deal.!

Wednesday in Jamaica

Wednesday we had a boat to go out and snorkel out in the middle of the ocean... It was cancelled... because again the weather...

In the afternoon we had a horseback riding excursion.. I rode "special" and Chris rode "chicko" down to the beach, where we all got off the horses while they took the saddles all off and stripped down to our swimming suits. Then we all got on the horses again I got switched to "Natasha" (who by the way listened WAY better than Special!) The guides took us in a line through the ocean then they started running and once they did the horses all copied, they were all running everywhere... up to my middle in some spots. It was hard to stay on the horses, two people fell off.. the horses were snorting and breathing heavy at first I thought they were hating life.. but then towards the end I decided they were all having so much fun playing in the ocean together!!! I don't have the pictures for this yet, we all chipped in on one CD from the guides to save money... So I am waiting for my copy, but believe me you'll want to see these, it was AWESOME! Then we switched back to the original horses and rode back to the bus stop.

Once back to the resort we dipped in the pool and played a bit, I was very very sore from the climb to the zip lines the day before and the horses didn't help, so I put my legs in the hot tub...

We wandered the beach looking for shells since the waves were up under the beach chairs by now... all sorts of things were washed up.

Remember they told us to strip down to our bathing suits... so that's what we are all in.! Well most of us... some of us didn't bring suits...

Tuesday in Jamaica

Tuesday we woke up and went to the canopy tour/zipline.

We took a bus up the scary mountain road, that was only wide enough for one car, and we did have to pass people... the edge of the road was a cliff and I sat on the wrong side of the bus, because Jamaican's drive on the the LEFT side of the road!!! it was scary... just inches from rolling down the cliff!!!On the other hand, it was a beautiful view once we got to the top and all the pics in this post are from other peoples cameras since I didn't take mine with us.
We all got bundled up and headed out,
we ended up hiking down quite a ways to get to the beginning, my legs were shaking half way down because there were SOOOOOO many steps. When we got down to the first zipline my mom realized how high we were and being afraid of heights wanted to let others go in front of her. So first went Braxton, then me, and Chris.... I could only see those two since they have to space each person out so far so no one runs into the other person. Anyway it was a series of like 9 ziplines and it wasn't until #5 that I screamed!!! They drop you completely down 90degrees DOWN!!! It freaked me out... then once at that bottom we all were huddled in a group because the end of the group had to make it there for the guides to come and start on the second half of the course. That is when I found out mom ended up not going, so dad and mom walked down, we saw them at one point... I can't imagine walking the rest of the way down.. it was STEEP! Once the guides caught up they got re set up on the next few sections and off the group went again. The last zipline was the longest and it was crazy.. I kept slowing myself down cause they got SO fast but kept getting told not to... :( then they told Chris to slow himself down and he didn't fast enough... at the bottem we found mom and dad and I guess that last zipline there was no other option then for mom to use it. So she was forced to go on the longest one... too bad cause the first one was the funnest. Anyway Cindy caught up and told us she slammed into a tree LOL Chris said his feet hit branches, but shorty me was just fine. LOL I did slam my hand into something it hurt, and I did get flipped backwards a few too many times, but it was a BLAST!!! The best time so far in Jamaica! well worth it!

At the bottom they said they normally take a boat down the river down to the village but with the rain the river was WAY high and crazy. I was glad we could walk to the village, except that I was tired already LOL and the village wasn't close LOL
