I potty trained my girls when they turned 2 but I actually started getting them familiar to the potty starting at about 18 months. I would just try to take them if I could catch them before they went number 2 or I would take them first thing in the morning because I was sure they had to go just to see how they would react. I got one of the small potty's that also has a little seat that can come off and sit on the toilet. When I really got down to the full blown potty training I used the small potty and then when they were doing pretty well I tried to put the small seat on the toilet at least when they went number 2 so I didn't have to do much clean up. I have heard to check out potty training in 1 day and have heard great things about that but I didn't actually use it myself.
