hris' tractor in the waiting area...
Rosemary pulling the flags for the national anthemChris being weighed in
after the pull, he stopped to talk to his buddiesAdlanna decided to pull her hair out it was so stressful!
I didn't even get to hug him congrats! They put him right to work, pulling the sled back after each compeditor!
Me dropping off the gas to ChrisAnd following him home.
So this past Saturday Chris entered his first tractor pull. Yes you heard me Tractor pull... He had to work so he took off at 6am in the tractor to drive across town to the job site, which happen to be 1/2 way to the pull. Then at 11 he drove it the rest of the way. We had to weigh in at 11am. He weighed in at 3800lbs even. He ended up in the bracket of 3500-4000lbs.
Teresa, Marty, Lacie, Wyatt and Sadie came and watched. Even his boss' and their families where there... Thanks guys for supporting him!
We had fun watching, they started out with the littlest tractors and in the first weight bracket there was only 1 young 10yr old girl who pulls so she took 1st place. That's the size tractor I need to pull. LOL
It was hours until Chris pulled and my back was hurting and Adlanna grew impatient. BUT when the time came boy it was fun, Chris was grinning ear to ear for the 4 people in front of him pulling because he was getting nervous he says, excited I say. :) I got it on camcorder! :)
He pulled and I saw that two people before him that guy pulled a 101.2ft pull... which blew the first guy 82.5 out of the water... so I think I already knew we didn't stand a chance, but it would still be fun, and "you learn something new at each pull" Dave says. (Dave is the co-owner of the co. Chris works for, the guy who is trying to retire and the guy we are going to buy out!)
Chris pulled a 77. something, they didn't announce it and he didn't get the inches... :(
Shortly after he pulled we all headed out, chris was thinking he was going to go back to work or stay and watch Dave and Rosemary pull but they weren't until later in the HEAVY machines so it would be hours until then. So he decided to work, but then he got asked to stay and help. He ended up jumping on the tractor that pulled the sled back after each compeditor pulled. He seemed glad to help.
He called me later that night at like 6:10pm and said he was on the side of the road out of gas. LOL So I ran got some gas and dropped it off to him, then followed him home since he didn't have headlights and we weren't sure how long it would take him so it was nearly dark. IT wasn't dark by the time we got home so it all was good.
