the 4th of July 2009

Many of you know the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It is because of the great childhood memories I have at Riverton Town days every year growing up. I think because it is my fav. holiday that It puts extra pressure to have a "GREAT" day and has in return ruined the last few 4th of July's for me. I can happily say I THINK this is the BEST 4th of July we have had since we have been married. Which is fun since it was also Adlanna's first 4th of July. Last year she was here BUT we didn't
do anything 4th of Julyish... so it was just like another day.

We started off this weekend with my parents arriving on Friday and eating yummy tacos as a family, we also got in some good visiting time. The Armstrong family had a last min plan change when Greg was forced to work ALL day.. (like really he got home at like midnight Friday night... on his typical day off)

The next morning we wanted to go to the Cedar City Parade... we had never been in the 4years we have been down here and didn't know what to expect. Although there were A TON TON TON of kidlets and some RUDE ones that stole Adlanna and Danika's candy when they were fingers were inches from the candy, and kept running out in front of us... It was still great. We got a good pile of candy and had a TON of fun letting her run after and pick up her own treats. The parade we went to at Pony Express Adlanna sat in her stroller and was much more calm, This one daddy was there to help so we had Adlanna on her backpack leash and was able to help her run around, daddy even walked her up to the truck of the allstars baseball team to flirt and get an autographed baseball signed by the whole team! The Armstrongs were a few min late to the parade (coming straight from Eagle mountain in the morning) so that's why the big family shot with all the empty chairs doesn't include their family... But they made it in time to get some candy waterbottles and other fun stuff. Adlanna seemed to really enjoy the parade, at first she did make weird faces at all the sirens and noise but then she got candy and got excited, she even picked each piece up and put it in a pile not asking for a single piece, until the parade was over. I think one of her favorite parts were watching the dance/cheerleading etc teams dance in the street.

Chris' Birthday Bash

The sign begins. I recruited Lacey for the day to help me with my crazy mad planning. I had a list of stuff to do and she started the sign first thing!! :) We also made 2 cakes 1. sheet cake like at our open house (it's talked about often at our house) 2. a mandarin orange cake because I wanted chris to try it. then Cookies, and wrapped gifts, decorated outside and inside and made sure the house was clean. Then Lacey watched Adlanna while I showered and primped for my hunny. :) Thanks lacey for your help!

**Lacey saw me at my worst, I kept forgetting what I was doing and would ask her and she would look at me like I was crazy, and I just had so much to do it was like i had lost my head... truely..., just ask her, she'll admit it**


I had to try this smock out for an Etsy shop and do a review on my buzz blog so that's what the pics are for. But I also thought hey it would be fun to have her help with the birthday cake! :)

It was a little hectic trying to get everything done and having her help with the sign and take pics then jump over to help with the cake and take pics and then back to the sign to finish... all before nap time and she lost her happiness! :) HEE HEE

She refussed to look at me, she finally smiled for Lacey.

She wanted Lacey to copy her other foot.
and got tired of waiting so she tried doing it herself. :)

Finally Chris walked in from work... He finally got to see the house all decorated and the craziness inside. He lit right up when he saw goodies and presents! I made him open them right then before dinner.. :)

He really liked his coupons and gave me a big hug afterwards, Which made me feel good since it took a lot of time to make them and come up with coupons.

yeah, so I didn't have wrapping paper besides christmas so he got scrapbooking paper!

this is her yum yum, she sticks her tongue out and in making yum noises, and rubs across her chest... Daddy taught her to rub her belly... the chest is her version.

Today Chris is 29, I really want to decorate with everything 30 because I think it would be funny, i'm not sure he would.

I had a REALLY great plan this morning but something ruined it and now I have to re-plan...

I have a busy day ahead of me, I will take pics and try to show you all ASAP. *rubs my hands together* oh, this is going to be good!
